How does one cope with political and economic turmoil in their home country? How is a sense of individual and collective oppression confronted and wrestled with? How can art be used as a tool for such expression? Join curator Andrea Fam as she examines how artists from this region use art and art making as a voice of resistance and as an agency for change.

Singapore Biennale 2016: An Atlas of Mirrors

Taking place from 27 October 2016 to 26 February 2017, Singapore Biennale 2016 will feature site-specific and never seen before contemporary artworks by 60 artists across Southeast, and East and South Asia. Exploring shared histories and current realities within and beyond the region, the exhibition, titled An Atlas of Mirrors, will be a constellation of artistic perspectives that provide unexpected ways of seeing the world and ourselves.

Singapore Biennale 2016 is organised by Singapore Art Museum and commissioned by the National Arts Council, Singapore.
